EHS Officer

Job Summary

The EHS Officer is responsible for implementing and monitoring Environmental, Health, and Safety programs to ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and industry standards. The role focuses on maintaining a safe work environment, preventing incidents, and promoting a strong safety culture across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• ## Ensure compliance with EHS regulations, company policies, and statutory requirements.
• ## Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments at site locations.
• ## Identify workplace hazards and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• ## Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend improvements.
• ## Conduct safety induction programs and periodic training for employees and contractors.
• ## Monitor the use of PPE and ensure adherence to safety procedures.
• ## Maintain EHS records, permits, reports, and compliance documentation.
• ## Coordinate emergency preparedness programs, mock drills, and evacuation procedures.
• ## Support environmental management initiatives, including waste management and sustainability programs.
• ## Liaise with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits.
• ## Monitor contractor safety performance and ensure compliance with site safety requirements.

Required Qualifications

• ## Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Industrial Safety, or a related field.
• ## Certification in Industrial Safety, NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent is preferred.

Required Skills

• ## Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and safety standards.
• ## Experience in hazard identification and risk assessment.
• ## Incident investigation and root cause analysis skills.
• ## Good communication, presentation, and training skills.
• ## Proficiency in MS Office and EHS reporting tools.
• ## Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
