About the Role

The driver role is important to Red Rabbit’s success, providing support to the Regional Director and Head Chefs in delivering meals to school programs in the D.C. Area. Areas of execution serving as a key contact to our school partners, ensuring efficient and timely deliveries to all schools, and providing exceptional customer service.

The ideal candidate is someone who is punctual, detail-oriented, has excellent customer service and shares our passion for creating equity within our urban schools. A person must be able to get on location reliably at approximately 6:00 am Monday - Friday.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure accurate and on-time delivery to all schools on route - including keys, milk, supplies, bins, and bags
  • Communicate any obstacles/problems immediately to team leads
  • Follow daily reports and route sheets
  • Communicate any school feedback to kitchen leader in an timely manner
  • Collaborate with school partners to ensure a great working relationship - provide information and assistance when needed
  • Navigate DC Area without reliance on GPS and find alternate routes when needed
  • Practice food safety habits throughout the delivery process
  • Assist with daily tasks needed for operations

Skills Needed:

  • 5+ years driving experience in DC area
  • 2+ years customer service or retail services, utilizing strong interpersonal skills to establish relationships with school partners
  • Valid driver's license for 5+ years, less than 3 points on license
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safe driving ability
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DC streets
  • Able to drive multiple size vehicles
  • Work well independently and in a team
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs on a regular basis
  • Must have thorough communication skills
  • Must be extremely well organized and detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task
  • Must be reliable, function well within a team and work calmly and efficiently in a fast moving environment.
  • Must share our passion for improving nutrition and health in schools

Compensation: $20 - $23 / hr
