Position Overview
The Security Lead is a hands-on security professional responsible for supporting day-to-day security operations at GTI’s Goodyear manufacturing facility. This position serves as the primary point of contact for Security Officers during the assigned shift and helps ensure security procedures, post assignments, access-control requirements, patrols, and incident-response protocols are consistently followed.
The Security Lead will work alongside the security team while providing shift-level direction, responding to escalated situations, supporting incident investigations, and communicating security concerns to the Security Supervisor and site leadership.
This role is ideal for an experienced security professional who has demonstrated strong leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to take ownership of security operations in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the working lead for Security Officers assigned to the shift, providing daily direction, support, and guidance.
- Assist with security post assignments, shift coverage, breaks, patrol responsibilities, and daily security activities.
- Maintain a visible security presence throughout the facility and surrounding property.
- Ensure Security Officers follow established GTI security policies, procedures, post orders, and professional standards.
- Monitor facility access and ensure appropriate procedures are followed for employees, contractors, vendors, visitors, deliveries, and other individuals entering or exiting the property.
- Support operation and monitoring of CCTV, badge/access-control systems, alarms, gates, and other physical security systems.
- Conduct routine interior and exterior security patrols to identify suspicious activity, unauthorized access, property damage, security vulnerabilities, or other concerns.
- Serve as the first point of escalation for security incidents and situations requiring additional judgment or response.
- Respond to workplace disturbances, unauthorized access, suspicious activity, theft, property damage, medical emergencies, alarms, and other security-related incidents.
- Use appropriate conflict-resolution and de-escalation techniques when responding to difficult or potentially disruptive situations.
- Immediately escalate significant incidents or security concerns to the Security Supervisor and appropriate GTI leadership.
- Assist with emergency response procedures including evacuations, lockdowns, severe weather events, medical emergencies, and other site emergencies.
- Coordinate with law enforcement, fire departments, emergency medical services, or other first responders when directed or required.
- Assist with preliminary security investigations, including gathering information, reviewing available security footage, documenting observations, and preserving relevant information.
- Complete and review security reports, patrol logs, incident reports, visitor records, and other required documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with onboarding and training new Security Officers on site procedures, post orders, patrol expectations, access-control requirements, and emergency protocols.
- Identify potential physical security vulnerabilities and immediately communicate concerns to security leadership.
- Support security requirements for customer visits, executive visits, special events, construction activities, contractors, and other operational needs.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee, business, customer, or security-related information.
- Perform Security Officer responsibilities as necessary to maintain appropriate site coverage.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of experience in security, corporate security, industrial security, military, law enforcement, loss prevention, or a related field.
- Previous experience serving as a Security Lead, Shift Lead, Senior Security Officer, or similar position preferred.
- Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, distribution, corporate campus, or similarly complex environment preferred.
- Working knowledge of physical security, access control, CCTV monitoring, patrol procedures, incident response, and emergency procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction and guidance to other security personnel.
- Strong situational awareness, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, conflict-resolution, and de-escalation skills.
- Ability to remain professional and make sound decisions during high-pressure situations.
- Ability to prepare clear, detailed, and accurate security and incident reports.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Basic proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and security-related technology.
- Ability to work onsite at GTI’s Goodyear, Arizona manufacturing facility.
- Ability to work assigned shifts, including potential evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on operational needs.
Preferred
- Previous lead experience within a manufacturing or industrial security environment.
- Experience with CCTV, electronic access-control, visitor-management, and alarm systems.
- Experience assisting with security or workplace investigations.
- Experience responding to workplace emergencies or coordinating with first responders.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
- Security-related training or certifications.
Physical & Work Environment
- Position is onsite within an active manufacturing and industrial environment.
- Requires frequent walking and standing throughout the facility and surrounding property.
- Requires the ability to respond promptly to incidents throughout the site.
- May require working indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
- Must be comfortable working around active manufacturing equipment, vehicles, deliveries, contractors, and production operations.
