About Mercor
Mercor's mission is to organize human intelligence to power the AI economy. We're a leading AI data company, building the layer between human expertise and frontier models. Millions of domain experts on the platform are paid over $4 million per day to train frontier AI models. Mercor's APEX benchmark family measures AI's real-world impact on professional work. Mercor Enterprise brings this same infrastructure to Fortune 500 companies: helping companies capture how their best people actually work, translating that expertise directly back into agents.
Mercor is creating a new category of work where expertise powers AI advancement. Achieving this requires an ambitious, fast-paced and deeply committed team. You’ll work alongside researchers, operators, and AI companies at the forefront of shaping the systems that are redefining society. Mercor is a profitable Series C company valued at $10 billion. We work in-person five days a week in our San Francisco, NYC, or London offices.
About the Role
Delivery Operations at Mercor is responsible for the end-to-end execution of our human data programs, ensuring projects are staffed, scoped, and delivered on time and at quality for our customers. We're looking for a Chief of Staff to work directly with the VP of Delivery Operations to drive strategic initiatives, keep cross-functional execution tight, and turn priorities into results across a fast-moving org.
This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants operating experience at the center of a growing business, with direct exposure to how a human data delivery org is run.
Reports to VP, Delivery Operations
What You'll Do
- Strategic partnership: Act as a thought partner to the VP, helping set priorities, structure decisions, and prepare for key meetings, reviews, and offsites
- Cross-functional execution: Drive projects from strategy to execution, coordinating across Delivery, Recruiting, Ops, Product, and Finance to keep initiatives on track
- Operating rhythm: Build and maintain the operating rhythm of the org, including weekly business reviews, KPI tracking, OKRs, and leadership reporting
- Problem solving: Turn ambiguous problems into structured plans, diagnosing operational bottlenecks and proposing fixes across staffing, throughput, quality, and margin
- Executive communication: Prepare briefings, decks, and analyses for exec and board-level conversations
- Special projects: Own initiatives as they arise, including new program launches, process redesigns, vendor evaluations, and headcount planning
- Force multiplier: Serve as a trusted filter for the VP, triaging what needs their attention versus what can be delegated or resolved directly
What We're Looking For
- 2–5 years of experience in a high-ownership operating role, such as chief of staff, business or strategy operations, management consulting, investment banking, venture, or a startup operating role
- Strong analytical skills; comfortable building models, structuring ambiguous problems, and drawing conclusions from data
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to synthesize complex information into clear, concise recommendations
- A bias toward execution; someone who can move from "what should we do" to "it's done" without much hand-holding
- Comfortable operating in fast-changing, high-growth environments with shifting priorities
- Experience in human data, data annotation, RLHF, or AI training data operations is a strong plus, but not required
Why This Role
You'll sit at the center of one of Mercor's most operationally intensive functions, with a direct line to strategic decision-making and a fast path to broader ownership as the org scales.
