Ukiah Waste Solutions, a Waste Connections company, is looking for a safety conscious Sorter to join our team in Ukiah, CA!

The schedule will be Monday-Friday 4:00AM working 8 to 10 hour days.

Starting pay will be $21.00 per hour. The pay range for this job category is $21-$23 per hour.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Sorting through material on the bottle line
• Cleaning equipment.
• Maintaining cleanliness of the area.
• Heavy lifting throughout shift.
• Traffic management.
• Operating machinery and equipment.
• Working outside in all weather conditions.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:

• Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
• Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
• Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to operate heavy equipment and large vehicles.
• Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules that are set forth; promotes the Company’s safety standards; work with a sense of honesty, integrity and trustworthiness.
• Ability to adhere to work schedule and follow through on challenges as they arise
• Minimum 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
