In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.

To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:

Speedboat Bowman

Speedboat Bowman is responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient operation of the vessels, ensuring a positive experience for all passengers while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the navigation and operation of the boat under the direction of the
  • Ensure the safety and security of passengers and crew at all
  • Conduct pre-departure checks, including safety equipment and emergency
  • Provide excellent customer service, engaging with passengers and addressing any inquiries or concerns.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the vessel, both inside and
  • Assist with loading and unloading passengers and
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs as directed by the captain or lead
  • Participate in emergency drills and training
  • Monitor weather conditions and report any changes to the
  • Follow all safety protocols and regulations at all
  • Assist with refueling the vessel and keeping a fuel

Qualifications/Skills and Experience

  • Valid STCW certificate from an accredited
  • Previous experience in a boating or maritime environment is
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and emergency
  • Strong communication and interpersonal
  • Ability to work as part of a team and
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays

Working Conditions

  • Position based at the OKO Project site. .
  • Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
  • Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
