Job Description:
Position Objective:
Perform electrical/mechanical repairs and installation, or preventive maintenance on presses and other production equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Perform electrical/mechanical repairs for equipment on presses or as established by schedule, priority, or the Machine Maintenance Manager.
- Repair and replace electrical components or other safety devices on all production equipment.
- Trouble-shoot system failures on all assigned equipment.
- Upgrade electrical controls on existing equipment by using PLCs and sensors.
- PLC experience to use as a troubleshooting tool.
- Assume the role of Project Manager in the installation and/or modification of production equipment. This would include the scheduling of both internal and external personnel and resources, specifying and obtaining the necessary components necessary to complete the project, and the ability to quote and maintain timelines to ensure that projects are completed in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Operate boom lift and scissor lift.
- Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping practices.
- Perform other duties as directed or assigned.
- Establish and maintain a critical parts inventory
Qualifications:
- Considerable experience working with PLCs and sensors
- Complete working knowledge of operator interfaces, servo motors, variable frequency drives
- Understanding of relay logic and electrical schematics
- Minimum 5 years experience with the troubleshooting and repairing of industrial machine controls
- Familiarity with press mechanics and auxiliary equipment
- Knowledge of the NEC Code
- Journeyman certification, master electrician, or a minimum of 5 years experience (or equivalent demonstratable work experience) with troubleshooting and repair of machine controls
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience
- Ability to lift 40-60 lbs. on a regular basis
Shift:
This position will initially be assigned to first shift. At a later date, it may transition to an off shift, most likely second shift, based on business needs. The timing of any shift change has not yet been determined. Flexibility to accommodate a potential shift change is required.
