Veterinary Receptionist / Exam Room Assistant (ERA)

VCA Centennial Valley Animal Hospital – Louisville, Colorado

Full-Time | No Sundays | No Late Nights | Rotating Saturdays

VCA Centennial Valley Animal Hospital is looking for a Veterinary Receptionist / Exam Room Assistant to join our fun, collaborative, and compassionate team!

We are an AAHA-accredited, small animal hospital with a diverse patient base including dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, reptiles, and other exotic pets. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality medicine while creating a comfortable, low-stress experience for both pets and their people.

What You'll Do

This is a dual-role position that combines exceptional client service with hands-on patient support.

Client Service Responsibilities:

• Welcome clients and their pets with a warm, friendly attitude.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, and assist clients with questions.
• Check clients in and out and help ensure a smooth visit from beginning to end.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding their pet's care.
• Process payments and assist with estimates and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate client and patient information.
• Work closely with the medical team to keep appointments moving efficiently.

Exam Room Assistant Responsibilities:

• Prepare exam rooms and assist with patient flow.
• Obtain and record patient histories and vital information.
• Assist doctors and technicians during appointments.
• Safely handle and restrain dogs, cats, and other species.
• Assist with collecting samples and performing basic patient care tasks.
• Prepare patients and equipment for procedures.
• Help maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment and exam areas.
• Provide compassionate, Fear Free–focused handling to help reduce patient stress.
• Assist with patient discharge instructions and client education.

Veterinary experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate with a great attitude and willingness to learn.
