Oncology Veterinary Technician

VCA Veterinary Emergency and Veterinary Specialty Center is looking to expand our Medical Oncology service and is hiring a Certified Veterinary Technician!

Schedule: Full-Time opportunities available, 4x 10 hour shifts, weekdays.

Compensation: The starting range is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field.

Position Overview: We are seeking a Veterinary Technician to join our Medical Oncology team. This is a great opportunity for a technician who is passionate about specialty medicine, wants to make a difference in the lives of pets and their families facing cancer diagnoses, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Assisting with chemotherapy administration and safety protocols
• Handling oncology patient intakes, treatments, and follow-up appointments
• Providing compassionate support and clear communication to pet parents
• Collaborating with the Oncology team and other departments
• Obtaining and preparing lab samples (blood, urine, cytology, etc.)
• Performing radiographs and monitoring imaging procedures
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment logs

Qualifications:

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
• Eligible to transfer current license to the state or obtain state credentialing within 3 months of hire.
