Pollution Control Officer

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements.
• Monitor waste management, emissions, wastewater, and other environmental aspects of operations.
• Prepare and submit environmental reports and regulatory documents.
• Coordinate environmental inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
• Conduct environmental awareness and compliance training for employees.
• Liaise with government agencies, including the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
• Implement pollution prevention, resource conservation, and sustainability programs.
• Investigate environmental incidents and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Accredited Pollution Control Officer certification (as required by local regulations).
• Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in environmental management and regulatory compliance is preferred.

Skills

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and DENR requirements.
• Understanding of pollution control technologies and environmental management systems.
• Familiarity with waste management, wastewater treatment, air emission monitoring, and hazardous materials handling.
• Ability to conduct environmental inspections, audits, and compliance assessments.
• Proficiency in preparing regulatory reports, permits, and documentation.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems is an advantage.

• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis abilities.
• Ability to identify environmental risks and recommend corrective actions.
• Data collection, monitoring, and environmental performance analysis.

Communication Skills

• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Strong coordination and liaison skills with regulatory agencies, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
• Capability to conduct environmental awareness and compliance training.
