We are seeking a Junior Records Management (RM) Specialist for the US Capitol Police (USCP) Information Resource Management Division (IRMD) Support program. This project will provide project management, business, administrative, and records management support for the USCP’s Office of Information Services (OIS), primarily supporting the IRMD. This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC, supporting USCP onsite a minimum of two days per week, with up to three days of telework after an initial two-month full-onsite acclimation period. Normal working hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

So, what will the Junior RM Specialist at Terrestris do?

The Junior RM Specialist will support the USCP IRMD Support contract, providing operational and analytical support to the RM program, working under the direction of Department RM leadership to execute day-to-day RM activities, data collection, reporting, and coordination across program offices. This position is contingent upon contract award.

What does a typical day look like for a Junior RM Specialist?

You will:

  • Support department-wide records inventories by collecting, validating, and organizing inventory data from program offices and records liaisons.
  • Assist with records lifecycle activities, including records transfers, disposal guidance, and destruction list reviews in accordance with approved retention schedules.
  • Prepare and distribute routine RM communications, including newsletters and periodic informational materials for records liaisons and staff.
  • Maintain and update Records Liaison (RL) listings and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in RM planning meetings, document meeting minutes, and track follow-up actions.
  • Support RM assessments and surveys by gathering analytical data, compiling results, and preparing summary reports.
  • Assist with training coordination for records liaisons and program staff, including attendance tracking and material preparation.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and data-oriented materials related to RM and OIS program activities.
  • Provide general business analysis support to OIS and RM programs, including documentation and presentation development.
  • Coordinate onsite support activities, as required, to assist with records transport, inventory validation, and stakeholder engagement.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we’re looking for if you have:

  • Ability to successfully complete a USCP criminal history check and fingerprinting process and qualify for a USCP identification/access badge is required.
  • Authorization to permanently work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Associate’s degree.
  • Minimum 3 years of records management and execution experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze records data, identify issues, and recommend solutions.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in records Management analysis.
  • Federal records management exposure and experience with Records Management Information Technology.
