Chicago Location:

Our Chicago location was designed to showcase a historic restored factory from 1902 in River West, close to the West Loop. The space has been given a new lease of life and is now part of the magical AIRE atmosphere.

The Role:

As the Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will support the daily Housekeeping operations to ensure our spaces are maintained to AIRE’s highest standards for both guests and employees. You will help lead the team, maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization, and ensure company protocols and service standards are consistently followed.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on supporting the team, maintaining operational excellence, and creating a comfortable and memorable experience for every guest.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Lockers

  • Ensure the team consistently follows AIRE service standards, protocols, and appearance guidelines.
  • Oversee guest comfort and wellbeing in the locker areas, ensuring spaces remain clean, organized, and fully stocked.
  • Resolve guest concerns or incidents escalated by team members.
  • Support frontline operations during breaks, high-occupancy periods, absences, and peak operational needs.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve the guest experience.

Cleaning & Laundry

  • Oversee internal laundry operations to ensure linens and textiles meet AIRE quality standards.
  • Ensure cleaning activities are completed according to company protocols.
  • Monitor the availability and proper use of cleaning products, tools, and supplies.
  • Monitor cleaning team performance and address or report areas of concern.
  • Monitor external laundry deliveries and quality standards.

Team & Department Management

  • Act as the main operational point of contact for the department during the Manager’s absence.
  • Supervise inventory and maintain appropriate stock levels.
  • Support timecard approvals and accurate payroll processing.
  • Conduct daily briefings and communicate incidents, operational updates, and areas for improvement.
  • Support scheduling, shift rotations, holidays, and coverage.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and team development.
  • Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment aligned with AIRE standards.

Who You Are:

  • Minimum 1 year of team management or supervisory experience, preferably within Housekeeping.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in housekeeping, cleaning, or a related operational role.
  • Experience within hospitality, wellness, luxury service, or another customer-focused environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning, sanitation, and laundry operations.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to coach, support, and hold team members accountable.
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adjusting priorities as needed.
  • Passion for delivering an exceptional guest experience and representing AIRE’s service standards.
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
