HVAC Service Technician

Job Summary

Surge Staffing is seeking experienced HVAC Service Technicians located in the Sewickley Area for an immediate full-time opportunity with a growing residential heating and cooling company. If you have a strong background in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing residential HVAC systems, we want to hear from you.

This is a service-focused position—not an installation role. As an HVAC Service Technician, you will travel to occupied residential homes to inspect, diagnose, and repair heating and cooling systems while delivering outstanding customer service.

Position Overview

As an HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for identifying HVAC issues, performing repairs, and ensuring residential systems operate safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on service experience and is comfortable working independently in customers' homes.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential heating and air conditioning systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance and service on HVAC equipment.
• Identify mechanical and electrical issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
• Test system performance after repairs to ensure proper operation.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with homeowners regarding service needs.
• Maintain accurate service documentation and work orders.
• Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices.
• Keep company vehicle, tools, and equipment organized and in good working condition.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HVAC Service Technician servicing residential HVAC systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage service calls efficiently.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record preferred.
• EPA Certification is preferred.
• Ability to lift equipment and work in attics, crawl spaces, and outdoor environments as needed.
