This role is well suited to a fresh CA/CMA qualified professional who has strong accounting fundamentals, analytical ability, attention to detail, and an interest in building a career in financial accounting and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close activities, including preparation, review, and processing of journal entries within agreed timelines.
  • Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis, investigate discrepancies, and support timely resolution.
  • Monitor accounting-related queries and shared mailboxes, ensuring responses and resolutions are completed within agreed service timelines.
  • Identify accounting or process issues, perform initial root-cause analysis, and support development of corrective actions.
  • Support intercompany accounting and approvals, financial statement preparation, and monitoring of accounting activities related to areas such as payroll, tax, and credit losses.
  • Prepare and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation to ensure they accurately reflect current ways of working.
  • Complete periodic accounting and internal-control checklists and required signoffs.
  • Collaborate effectively with finance teams and other internal stakeholders across locations to resolve accounting queries and support smooth process transitions.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation, supporting evidence, and accounting rationale to ensure audit readiness and compliance with internal controls.
  • Complete mandatory corporate, finance, and compliance training within required timelines.
  • Identify inefficiencies and opportunities to simplify accounting workflows and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify repetitive or manual activities within the close cycle and suggest practical automation opportunities using Microsoft Excel, macros, Power Automate, robotic process automation (RPA), or similar tools.
  • Demonstrate an improvement mindset by challenging inefficient processes, identifying root causes, and recommending simpler and more effective ways of working.

Qualifications

  • Freshly qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) or Cost and Management Accountant (CMA).
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, journal entries, general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and work effectively within monthly reporting deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and finance teams across different locations.
  • Strong sense of ownership, accountability, and willingness to learn.

Preferred:

  • Exposure to month-end close, financial reporting, audit, taxation, reconciliations, or general ledger accounting through articleship, internship, industrial training, or similar practical experience.
  • Exposure to ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with process automation tools such as Power Automate, Excel macros, or RPA.
  • Interest in process improvement, automation, and working in a shared-services or global finance environment
