Location: Plantation, Florida (Onsite)
Role: The Technology & Data team is seeking an experienced Data Engineer II to support the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data solutions within a healthcare environment. This role is responsible for building scalable data pipelines, integrating data across multiple platforms, and delivering high-quality data assets that support analytics, reporting, and business decision-making. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Databricks, SQL, SQL Server, SSIS, PL/SQL, and healthcare data.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines using Databricks and SQL technologies.
- Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, and integration processes across healthcare systems and enterprise data sources.
- Develop and support data warehouses, data marts, and analytical data models.
- Create, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, functions, and database objects.
- Develop and support SSIS packages and data integration workflows.
- Utilize Databricks, Apache Spark, and Delta Lake technologies to process and transform large datasets.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and application teams to deliver effective data solutions.
- Monitor data quality and resolve performance bottlenecks and production issues.
- Support HIPAA compliance, data governance, and data security initiatives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and data mappings.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or a related technical role.
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and Apache Spark.
- Advanced SQL development skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures, indexing, and database performance tuning.
- Experience developing and supporting SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) packages.
- Experience with PL/SQL development.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
- Healthcare industry experience working with claims, provider, member, clinical, or operational healthcare data.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python and PySpark.
- Knowledge of Delta Lake and Lakehouse architecture.
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, ICD-10, and CPT.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD deployment practices.
- Databricks certification preferred.
