Job Summary
This role supports Utility Finance by enhancing short-term forecasting, analyzing financial performance, and preparing key performance reporting for Central Maine Power (CMP) and affiliated entities. The position partners with business leaders, regulators, and storm response teams to evaluate operational and financial results, support storm cost recovery activities, and assist with compliance filings. This role also conducts financial and business analysis to provide insights that support organizational objectives and performance improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze financial and operational performance against budget and prior-year results to identify trends and variances.
- Consolidate company performance data into recurring reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Monitor budget-to-actual results and provide visibility into key performance drivers and variance tracking.
- Manage storm accounting, recordkeeping, and recovery timelines in accordance with regulatory and legal requirements.
- Prepare executive-level materials that communicate financial performance to management and regulators.
- Conduct ad hoc financial, business, profitability, and cost analyses to support decision-making.
- Lead Utility Finance process improvement initiatives that enhance performance management and reporting processes.
- Coordinate performance and budget discussions and evaluate operational performance scenarios.
- Recommend actions to improve financial performance and support business objectives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, safety, and sustainability requirements through process and procedure oversight.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or another related field.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Analytical and financial modeling experience.
- Written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and storytelling techniques.
- Stakeholder relationship management experience and ability to engage senior leaders.
- Knowledge of regulated utility business drivers, operational processes, and methodologies.
- Project management, change management, and process improvement management experience.
