A Day in the Life
We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional to join our Energy Solutions team in Mexico. The Assistant Project Manager will play a critical role in supporting Prologis’s distributed generation and solar EPC project execution efforts. This role focuses on coordinating contractors, tracking schedules and budgets, managing documentation, and ensuring effective communication across internal and external stakeholders. The position strengthens in-country execution capabilities while supporting broader LATAM Energy program objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Execution Support
- Support execution of solar EPC projects through coordination with contractors, utilities, engineering consultants, and internal teams.
- Assist with engineering scope reviews, mobilization and pre-construction readiness, and site documentation.
- Support site inspections, punch lists, and project closeout documentation with both EPCs and Owner’s Engineers.
Meeting & Communication Management
- Attend and help facilitate recurring project meetings and prepare detailed meeting minutes capturing decisions, action items, and due dates.
- Track action items and follow up with responsible stakeholders.
- Prepare and distribute recurring project status updates to leadership.
Milestone, Schedule & Progress Tracking
- Maintain and update project milestone trackers in coordination with project leads.
- Monitor progress against approved schedules and escalate deviations.
- Align closeout documentation with milestone completion requirements.
Invoice, PO & Financial Coordination
- Perform first-pass invoice reviews to verify accuracy and completeness prior to approval workflows.
- Support preparation and submission of project work orders, change orders, etc.
- Track the lifecycle of Change Orders including approvals and implementation timelines.
- Maintain budget tracking tools and support financial forecasting processes.
Document Control & Reporting
- Organize and maintain structured project documentation systems across shared platforms.
- Assist in ensuring proper version control of contracts, approvals, and communications.
- Assist in preparation, organization, and review of project closeout documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of execution workflows and reporting standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years of project coordination, execution, or construction management experience.
- Based in Mexico with ability to travel to project sites.
- Fluent in Spanish and proficient in English (required).
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project tracking systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or commercial construction projects.
- Demonstrates willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.
