Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE SUMMARY:
This position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Weyburn ministry; assist with clients in our community ministry programs; assist with planning and supporting the Christmas Assistance and Fundraising.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The incumbent may perform all, some, or similar duties to the listed below:
Office Support
- Process invoices
- Accept monetary donations
- Receipting of monetary donations
- Prepare bank deposits
Christmas Support
- Intake for Christmas hampers/assistance
- Distribute hampers through community ministries programming
- Record documentation of families and individuals needing assistance
- Prepare the Christmas Kettle schedules
- Pick up Christmas Kettles
- Count monies from the Christmas Kettles
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Primarily office work
- Some work in the community
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Willingness to develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.
- Work in compliance with OH&S Act and Regulations and abide by The Salvation Army’s health and safety policies and procedures.
Alternative combination of education and experience may be considered.
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Office Diploma is an asset.
## Experience and Knowledge:
- Up to 1 year of related secretarial, administrative, or customer service experience is required.
- Working basic knowledge of Office365
## Skills and Capabilities:
- Good verbal and written skills
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Good decision-making and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities (i.e., good judgement).
- Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality with professional ethics and a balanced sense of fairness and flexibility
- Able to work cooperatively in a team setting.
Compensation:
The target hiring range for this position is $15.35 to $18.86 with a maximum of $22.64.
Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
