Position Overview
- We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to support inspection and quality assurance activities
- within a manufacturing and repair environment focused on industrial mechanical components.
- This role is responsible for ensuring products meet engineering specifications, maintaining
- inspection documentation, supporting production teams, and contributing to continuous
- improvement initiatives across the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspections on newly manufactured and repaired components to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Conduct first-piece, in-process, visual, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation in accordance with internal procedures and industry standards.
- Support calibration tracking and organization of precision measurement instruments and inspection equipment.
- Identify nonconforming materials or components, document findings, and coordinate corrective actions with production and support teams.
- Participate in root cause investigations and assist with corrective and preventative quality initiatives.
- Support repair and manufacturing teams with inspection-related activities and technica lguidance.
- Assist production personnel in understanding drawings, tolerances, and quality expectations.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of inspection methods, work instructions, and standard procedures.
- Perform internal quality audits and support compliance with company quality systems.
- Verify material certifications and maintain proper traceability records.
- Assist with supplier quality activities, incoming inspections, and vendor evaluations.
- Review inspection reports and ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
- Provide guidance and training on the proper use of measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Promote quality awareness, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the shop environment.
- Coordinate with logistics, procurement, vendors, and manufacturing support teams as needed.
- Perform additional duties related to quality and manufacturing support operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing, machining, or industrial qualityenvironment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing and engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of GD&T principles and their application in inspection processes.
- Familiarity with international manufacturing and quality standards such as ISO-relatedsystems.
- Experience using handheld precision measuring equipment and inspection tools.
- Exposure to CMM equipment and nondestructive testing methods is considered beneficial.
- Background working with rotating equipment, compressors, or industrial mechanicalsystems is a plus.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-driven with strong problem-solving and accountability skills.
- Experience supporting quality management systems and continuous improvementinitiatives preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with ERP or quality managementsoftware is helpful.
