The main purpose of this position is to ensure the maximum prevalence, knowledge and profitable growth of Corteva’s fungicides portfolio within the Crop Protection business in Italy. Corteva Italy is currently seeking a Category Marketing Manager Fungicides for a fixed term maternity replacement assignment (12 months).
Under the general supervision of the Marketing Manager, the purpose of this job is to define, coordinate and execute the fungicides marketing strategy for Italy, translating portfolio priorities, market insights and technical product value into clear business plans, customer campaigns and demand creation initiatives.
This role will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the local Sales teams, Customer Technology Specialists, Category Marketing Managers, Regulatory, Supply and Demand Planning, regional Portfolio teams, as well as external advertisement and media agencies for the coordination and development of local campaigns and promotional activities.
The position will be located at the Corteva office in Cremona, Italy.
Your Challenge
- As an integral member of the commercial team, works closely with the Marketing Manager and Crop Protection team to define and execute the Italian fungicides marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with country objectives, regional portfolio guidance and business priorities.
- Own the fungicides portfolio plan, including portfolio positioning, brand priorities, crop and segment focus, value proposition, competitive differentiation and go-to-market approach across key crops and customer segments.
- Contribute to the delivery of business results for the fungicides platform, with focus on top line, gross margin, portfolio mix, pricing discipline and sustainable growth opportunities.
- Lead, by influence, the Local Product Concept Team and cross-functional contributors to align technical, regulatory, supply, sales and marketing inputs into actionable portfolio and campaign plans.
- Support the IBP and demand planning processes by providing market intelligence, forecast inputs, assumptions, risks and opportunities for the short and medium term.
- Drive pricing excellence by monitoring market dynamics, competitive moves, customer feedback and profitability evolution, proposing corrective actions when needed.
- Build and execute annual campaign plans for fungicides, coordinating crop-specific priorities, customer journeys, field activation, digital touchpoints, sales enablement tools and communication materials.
- Translate complex technical and agronomic content into customer-centric messaging, helping Sales and technical teams communicate product value clearly to distributors, retailers, consultants and farmers.
- Identify and prioritize key growth opportunities, launch or repositioning needs, regulatory-driven portfolio challenges and trade-off scenarios, preparing business cases and recommendations for approval where required.
- Manage the P&A budget for the fungicides category, supporting allocation, approval, execution tracking and measurement of campaign effectiveness.
- Ensure consistent brand management and collaborate with the communication team and agencies to protect Corteva corporate identity while maximizing campaign impact.
- Develop a structured approach to market and competitive intelligence, combining internal data, customer insights, field feedback and market research to support targeted business decisions.
- Work with regional Portfolio teams and functional experts to leverage best practices, assets and strategic guidance, adapting them to the Italian market reality.
- Ensure coordination and alignment of marketing campaigns with Sales activities, supporting effective market reach, demand creation and customer engagement across physical and digital channels.
Qualifications
To Grow What Matters, You Will Need
- A background in agriculture, agronomy, agribusiness or the crop protection industry is highly desirable, with strong understanding of customer needs and technical product value in fungicides.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Marketing, Business or another relevant field.
1-3 Years experience
- Marketing experience in the agricultural industry, preferably within Crop Protection, with exposure to portfolio management, product campaigns, pricing, forecasting or business planning is a plus
- Familiarity with the Italian fungicides market, crop dynamics, customer needs, competitive environment and current market trends would be a valuable advantage
- Flexible and able to adapt to shifting priorities, while remaining highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects, stakeholders and external resources.
- Ability to influence, network and collaborate across Marketing, Sales, Technical, Regulatory, Supply, Finance, regional Portfolio and external agency teams.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, in Italian and English, with the ability to build strong working relationships.
- Excellence in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity with digital marketing tools, dashboards or analytics platforms is a plus.
