Location Overview Join our team in Aman Rosa Alpina. Since its opening in 1939, Rosa Alpina has offered its guests an unparalleled base for exploring Italy's UNESCO-protected Dolomites, celebrating the history of the property while uniting it with Aman's philosophy.
Role
Under the supervision of the F&B Manager, the Sommelier is responsible for curating, managing, and presenting an outstanding wine selection that complements the culinary offerings of our restaurant outlets. With deep expertise in viticulture, service excellence, and guest engagement, the Sommelier ensures personalized recommendations, seamless service, and a memorable journey through wine for every guest. This role also involves staff training, inventory control, and collaboration with the culinary and service teams to uphold the highest standards of luxury hospitality.
Responsibilities
- Have a wide knowledge of wines and spirits from all over the world.
- Inform guests about different varieties of wines and prices.
- Ensure wines are served at the right temperature and within the proper glassware.
- Store open bottles properly to maintain strong taste.
- Train wait staff on available wines.
- Assist in conducting monthly inventory checks on all beverage items and operating equipment and supplies.
- In the absence of the Outlet Manager, conduct daily pre-shift briefings to employees on preparation, service and menu.
- Establish and strictly adhere to the par stocks for all operating equipment, supplies, inventoried items, and to ensure that the outlet is adequately equipped.
- Liaise with the Kitchen and Beverage Department on daily operations and quality control.
- Ensure that the outlet is kept clean and organized, both at the front as well as the back of the house.
Requirements
- Languages: Verbal and written proficiency in English and Italian.
- Qualifications/Training: Degree/Diploma in any discipline.
- Minimum 1 year in a supervising role in a fine dining establishment.
- Sommelier Certification.
- Computer knowledge.
