About the Company
We are a growing trucking and logistics company focused on reliable, scalable transportation solutions for regional and national clients. As we expand our customer base and long-term partnerships, we are looking for a Business Development Manager who understands the industry, has strong relationships, and knows how to drive sustainable revenue growth.
Role Overview
The Business Development Manager is responsible for generating new business, managing key client relationships, and driving customer retention. This role requires hands-on experience in the trucking or logistics industry, a strong professional network, and the ability to convert leads into long-term customers.
You will work closely with Operations and Leadership to ensure commercial growth aligns with operational capacity and service quality.
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Identify, prospect, and onboard new customers within the trucking and logistics industry
- Leverage existing industry connections to generate qualified leads
- Conduct outbound outreach via calls, emails, meetings, and industry events
- Prepare and negotiate contracts, pricing, and service agreements
Customer Retention & Account Management
- Manage and grow relationships with existing customers
- Develop retention strategies to increase repeat business and contract renewals
- Act as the main commercial point of contact for key accounts
- Monitor customer satisfaction and proactively address issues in coordination with Operations
Strategy & Collaboration
- Work closely with the Management to ensure service feasibility and delivery quality
- Provide market insights on pricing, competitors, and customer needs
- Support leadership with sales forecasts and revenue growth planning
- Track pipeline activity and performance metrics
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management within trucking, logistics, or transportation
- Established connections and network within the industry
- Proven ability to acquire new customers and retain existing accounts
- Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Experience working with CRM systems and sales pipelines
- Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment
- Strong understanding of trucking operations, pricing models, and customer expectations
