Your Role: Manufacturing Scientist/Quality Control Chemist Intern – Fort Dodge, Iowa (Summer 2027)

As a Summer 2027 Quality Control Intern with Elanco Animal Health, you will be part of the Animal Health Manufacturing (AHM) Lab team at our Fort Dodge, Iowa manufacturing plant, to deliver a practical solution to reducing analytical variability, a manufacturing technical project, or implementation of new lab methods. Interns will have exposure to many career paths and diverse subject matter experts as many projects have site-wide impact.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Understand the Animal Health Manufacturing process, document using GMP guidelines, and understand the importance of the Quality Unit
  • Work within cross-functional teams to implement process or Quality Control lab improvements
  • Learn about quality control, fermentation, product recovery, product finishing, or companion animal packaging
  • Study design improvement processes

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Education: Currently enrolled in an Engineering major including (but not limited to) Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Process
  • Top Skills: Experience in Microsoft Suites and a willingness to learn

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Must be able to work exceptionally well independently and with minimal supervision

Additional Information:

  • Travel: 10% - to corporate facility in Indianapolis, IN for opening/closing
  • Location: Fort Dodge Manufacturing Plant, Fort Dodge, IA
