Quality Assurance Technician
Pay Rate: $20.13/hour Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:45 PM Job Type: Full-Time Department: Quality Assurance
Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to help ensure products meet established quality specifications and prevent defective products from reaching customers.
This position involves sampling and evaluating raw materials, in-process products, and finished products while documenting quality results and communicating any issues to the appropriate production and Quality Assurance team members.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and evaluate raw materials, including sweeteners, frozen fruits and purees, raw apples, concentrates, and dry ingredients.
- Sample and evaluate in-process and finished products according to established quality specifications.
- Monitor products for quality trends and communicate concerns to production.
- Inspect container closures, container integrity, product coding, and carton coding.
- Identify and report deviations from quality specifications.
- Alert Quality Assurance staff when products are outside established specifications.
- Complete quality score sheets and accurately record inspection results.
- Complete required start-of-shift checklists and procedures.
- Calibrate, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment according to procedures.
- Properly identify and communicate out-of-specification products for appropriate disposition.
- Maintain organized quality records, files, and documentation.
- Perform product retesting and collect samples as required.
- Assist with customer samples and weekly sample preparation and shipment.
- Assist with reconditioning projects and set-aside sorting.
- Follow detailed procedures and maintain confidentiality of company information.
- Work with production and other departments to resolve quality concerns and improve processes.
- Perform additional Quality Assurance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, technical school education, or equivalent.
- Basic computer skills for entering and recording data.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to perform laboratory procedures accurately and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to visually inspect products and identify flaws or variations from specifications.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed written procedures.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to report irregularities to supervisors and Quality Assurance staff.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to identify potential quality issues through established testing methods.
- Ability to adapt to changes in procedures, schedules, and priorities.
- Ability to read procedure reports and complete written documentation in English.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with multiple departments.
